The Agriturismo “Mulino a vento” is situated on a private property of about 8 hectares, cultivated with olives and belonging to the family Torriti since 1912. The property contains the pricipal building “Villa Torriti” and the “Mulino a Vento” part of which, dating from the 1400s, was restructured in 1999.
A painstaking restoration was undertaken which has kept intact the characteristics of the house without stripping it of its soul where modern conveniences are integrated with a typical Tuscan style.
The house with its panoramic pool is found below the ancient Etruscan wall that surrounds the city of Cortona.
The terraced fields on the property are cultivated with olive trees, the organic oil produced from the olives harvested every year in November is in keeping with the passion for nature and natural products. All of the phases from the harvest to the final pressing of the olives allow for an interesting and immersive experience as one waits for the tasting of the new oil.
What will absolutely impress you the most about the Mulino a Vento is the stunning view which opens out onto the Valdichiana and the Lake Trasimeno. A view that presents to you an evocative and unique panorama from the house, the garden and also the pool with its beautiful little tiled alcove and fountain.
Silence, peace and privacy in this corner of Cortona seem almost impossible to attain, with the center of the city only a few minutes walking distance, nevertheless, Cortona is there, a few steps away with her vibrant life.
The Torriti's Family will welcome you personally.
